GLP-1 nutrition support, from a registered dietitian.

If your doctor has put you on Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro or Zepbound, the side effects and the nutrition gaps are the part nobody walked you through. These guides do.

GLP-1 medications change appetite, digestion and the rhythm of eating — and the prescribing visit rarely covers the nutrition side. These guides are written for people already prescribed a GLP-1 (Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepbound) who want practical, weight-inclusive nutrition support: managing side effects, protecting muscle, and eating well at lower appetite. Medication decisions stay with your prescriber.

A note on framing

Why a weight-inclusive dietitian works on the GLP-1 side at all.

The honest answer: people on GLP-1s deserve good nutrition care. Whether you stay on the medication for years or eventually taper, the things that protect your long-term health — adequate protein, micronutrient density, muscle preservation, sustainable meal patterns — are the same. Skipping the nutrition piece is how people end up nauseated, undernourished, losing muscle and back at square one if the medication stops.

My job isn't to talk you into or out of a GLP-1. It's to make sure the months and years you're on one are nourishing, livable and protective of the body you live in.

FAQ

GLP-1 nutrition — common questions.

Are these guides telling me to take GLP-1s?

No. The decision to start, continue or stop any medication belongs with you and your prescribing physician. These guides are for people who are already on a GLP-1 (or whose doctor has recommended one) and want clear, weight-inclusive nutrition support to feel well on it and protect long-term health.

Do you work with patients on GLP-1s 1:1?

Yes. I work alongside your prescriber on the nutrition side — managing side effects, protecting muscle mass, ensuring adequate protein and micronutrients, and helping you build eating patterns that are sustainable whether you stay on the medication long-term or eventually taper off.

Is this a weight-loss approach?

No — and that's important. My practice is weight-inclusive. I focus on energy, labs, cycles, symptoms, muscle preservation and quality of life. Whether or not the scale changes, those outcomes matter more than the number on it.

Will GLP-1s mess up my metabolism or cause muscle loss?

Without intentional nutrition and movement, GLP-1s can lead to disproportionate muscle loss — studies suggest 25–40% of total weight lost can be lean mass. That's the strongest reason to work with a dietitian alongside the medication: adequate protein, resistance training and consistent eating substantially mitigate this. The muscle-protein guide above walks through the targets.
