Medical nutrition therapy (MNT) with Leila Page, RD is coordinated with your physician and your most recent labs — practical strategies you can use this week, not crash diets or rigid rules. In-network with Aetna in California, with superbills for other plans.

A diabetes or prediabetes diagnosis is overwhelming. We focus on the actual mechanics: what to put on your plate, how to time meals, how to use carbs strategically, and how to make changes that survive holidays, travel and stress. Progress is measured with labs and how you feel — not weight.

Who this is for

Sound like where you are right now?

  • You’ve been newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes and want a practical, non-overwhelming starting point.
  • Your A1C, cholesterol or triglycerides have been creeping up and your physician suggested a dietitian.
  • You have a family history of heart disease or diabetes and want to be proactive without obsessing over food.
  • You manage your numbers reasonably well, but the way you’re eating to do it isn’t sustainable.
  • You want strategies that work around travel, restaurants, family meals and a busy schedule.
How I help

How I work with diabetes, prediabetes & cardiometabolic care.

01

Blood-sugar strategy that fits you

We work on the patterns most likely to move your numbers — meal composition, fiber, protein timing, snacks — without micromanaging every bite.

02

Heart-health nutrition

Practical changes to support cholesterol, blood pressure and overall cardiometabolic health — alongside your physician’s care.

03

Insurance-friendly MNT

Diabetes and prediabetes are the diagnoses most often covered by insurance for medical nutrition therapy. I’ll help you figure out your coverage.

04

Long-term, not crash-course

We’re building a way of eating that protects your future labs and energy without taking over your life.

Nutrition counseling is not a substitute for medical care. Individual results vary.

I started working with Leila when I was living in Orange County and wanted help with nutrition coaching, without another gimmick diet. She built a plan and habit recommendations around real food and my actual schedule, and it finally stuck. When I moved to Texas for work, I figured I'd have to find someone new, but she's licensed there too and everything is virtual, so we could keep progressing. Super convenient. The realistic approach and convenient virtual sessions made it easy to stay consistent. Thanks Leila!

I'd struggled with my PCOS symptoms for years and felt like no one really listened. Working with Leila completely changed that. She took the time to understand what was going on with my hormones and insulin resistance and built a realistic eating plan I could actually stick to - no extreme restriction. Doing everything virtually from home in Yorba Linda made it so easy to keep up with. A few months in and what a night and day difference. Cannot recommend her enough.

FAQ

Diabetes & Metabolic Health — common questions

Is diabetes nutrition counseling covered by insurance?

Often, yes. Diabetes and prediabetes are among the most commonly covered diagnoses for medical nutrition therapy. Coverage and number of visits varies by plan — I can help you check your specific benefits before we start.

Do you take Aetna?

Yes — I’m in-network with Aetna in California. For other plans, I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement and accept HSA/FSA.

Will we work alongside my physician?

Yes. Nutrition counseling complements medical care; it doesn’t replace it. I’ll work with your labs, medications and physician’s plan, and coordinate as needed.

Is this fully virtual?

Yes — every session is virtual, by secure video. I see clients across California, Texas and Nevada.

How long until my A1C or lipids improve?

Most lab markers reflect changes over weeks to months. A1C, for example, reflects roughly the prior 3 months of blood sugar. Many people see meaningful shifts on follow-up labs after a few months of consistent work. Individual results vary.
